This salt free spice blend transforms a creamy tomato based sauce into Tikka Masala, a favorite Indian-inspired dish in the United Kingdom. Great when making your own Chicken Tikka Masala, even on fish or tofu. Try our recipe to make a delicious Tikka Masala sauce:

2 Tbs Vegetable Oil
1 Medium Onion - Diced
2 Tbs Ginger-garlic Paste (OR 5 cloves garlic - Minced, plus a 2 inch piece of ginger - Grated)
3/4 cup Tomato Puree
7 Cashew Nuts
1/2 Cup Water
4 tsp Tikka Masala powder
1/4 Cup Heavy Cream
2 Tbs Greek Yogurt
Few sprigs cilantro chopped for garnish
Salt to taste
(Optional) 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Chile or 1/4 tsp Cayenne for heat

Add tomato puree, cashew nuts, and water to a blender and puree until smooth and light in color. Add oil to a medium sauce pan and cook onions slowly over medium heat until browning and very soft, at least 15 minutes. Add the ginger and garlic (or ginger-garlic paste) and cook another 5-7 minutes, stirring until the raw aroma disappears. Add Tikka Masala powder. Stir for 1 - 2 minutes to cook the spices, then pour in the tomato-cashew puree and allow to simmer, stirring occasionally for 15-20 minutes. To finish, stir in yogurt and heavy cream and salt to taste. For an extra silky texture, blitz your Tikka Masala in a blender for a few minutes before serving.

Use creamy Tikka Masala sauce on grilled, roasted, and Tandoori-style proteins. Excellent on Chicken, Lamb, Seafood, Tofu or Paneer cheese. Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or naan on the side.
